they are right you don't need the turbo timer if your not getting the turbos hot right before shut down. However, depending on your driving style it would be an extra safety measure to preserve the turbos. If you drive it hard right before you pull in to park then don't let it sit and cool down (which who wants or remembers to sit and let it cool down when you got somewhere to be?????) you can cook the oil. Get the turbo timer it only costs a little over $100 and you get all the neat features like 0-60 times, 1/4 mile times, and a bunch more. As you add mods you'll see your gains (if your at all consistent) without the dyno. Of course the dyno is the best measure. I installed mine right where the clock was, looks real nice.
